Yamaha India has showcased the NMAX 155 at Auto Expo 2025. The NMAX is currently only sold in the international market, but there’s a chance it could be coming to India. Here’s a brief overview of what this maxi-scooter has to offer.

The Yamaha NMAX 155 has a maxi-scooter inspired design and styling. It gets a bulky looking front end, with a large apron and a tall windscreen. The scooter manages to look really good, and feels like a proper maxi-style scooter which you would see in the streets of Europe.

It is powered by a 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine which outputs 15.3PS and 13.9Nm. The engine is mated to automatic transmission. In terms of underpinnings, the NMAX features a telescopic fork and twin rear shock absorbers.

The scooter rolls on 13-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. The braking setup consists of disc brakes at both ends, with dual-channel ABS.

In terms of features, the scooter gets a LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity and related features like call/SMS alerts. The top-of-the-line variant also offers additional features such as keyless ignition and smart lock features. It also offers electronic riding aids like a traction control system as well.

We expect the scooter to be launched in India by the end of next year. It could be priced somewhere in the Rs 1.55 lakh to Rs 1.60 lakh range (ex-showroom). It will go up against the Aprilia SR 160 and the upcoming Hero Xoom 160.
