Kawasaki Celebrates Golden Jubilee Of The Z Lineup With Bling

The Z900, Z650, Z900RS and the Z650RS have all received celebratory paint schemes

All four bikes are finished in red colour this time around.
The Z650RS and Z900RS get golden alloy wheels.
No mechanical changes introduced.

Kawasaki’s Z lineup is one of the most popular naked bike lineups in the world. And it completes 50 years of existence in 2022.

So to celebrate this feat, the company has introduced special 50th anniversary editions of its modern day Z lineup comprising the Kawasaki Z650, Z650RS, Z900, and the Z900RS. Let’s take a look at them.

Taking up the Kawasaki Z650RS and the Z900RS first, these two come wrapped in a glossy candy red colour, paying homage to the ‘Fireball’ shade of the 1972 Z1. The livery also packs special side emblems, a chrome grab rail, new cover for the ribbed seat, and ‘50th Anniversary’ badges, all topped by golden spoke-like alloy wheels.

Meanwhile, the Kawasaki Z900 and the Z650 celebrate the ‘Firecracker Red’ colour of the iconic Z1100GP. Consequently, they get a deep red finish on the bodywork and alloy wheels, complemented by grey and black graphics. This special livery, coupled with the Z650 and Z900’s ‘Sugomi’ design, make the bikes look quite sporty.

Besides the aesthetics, no changes have been made. All four bikes continue to feature their respective engines (649cc twin-cylinder for Z650 and Z650RS, 948cc inline-four for Z900 and Z900RS), putting out the same power figures.

The special editions of the Z900, Z900RS, Z650, and the Z650RS will reach Japanese dealerships in February 2022, followed by European markets in spring 2022. There’s no news on the India launch as of now, but we do expect them here, considering these models (barring the Z900RS) are quite popular in India.
