MG Motor has launched the Windsor EV Inspire Edition at a price of Rs 12.64 lakh (ex-showroom with BaaS). To take full advantage of the festive demand, the carmaker has brought out this limited edition with cosmetic and feature upgrades, which offer a more stylish alternative to the regular variants. Let’s take a look at what all MG has to offer:
The Windsor EV Inspire Edition has been priced at Rs. 16.65 lakh (ex-showroom). It is based on the top-end Essence variant of the regular Windsor EV:

However, MG will also be offering it with a battery-as-a-service option at a price of Rs. 12.64 lakh (ex-showroom) plus Rs 3.9/km thereafter.
On the outside, the Windsor EV Inspire Edition gets a number of upgrades to drive up the style quotient. This includes a dual-tone Pearl White and Starry Black paint scheme, 18-inch black alloy wheels and ORVMs and Inspire badging.
Besides these changes, the Inspire Edition stays similar to the regular and features a unique bulbous design. At the front, you have circular headlamps with LED DRLs on top. Towards the side, you have a distinct roofline to maximise interior space, along with flush door handles for a clean look. At the rear as well, it gets round proportions, albeit with few elements making for a simple and classic design overall.

Inside the Windsor EV Inspire Edition, you will find an interior that is unmistakable for anything else. It has a minimalistic theme with a fully flat dashboard. Nearly all functions of the car are integrated in the 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, although for India, MG has added physical controls for the climate control below. You also get a ‘floating’ centre console with three cupholders, while the gearshifter has been moved to the steering column for easier operation.

However, the party piece of the Windsor has to be the rear seat, which can recline up to an angle of 135 degrees for passenger comfort. New to the Inspire Edition are touches such as optional roof illumination, wireless sill plates and a dual-tone Sangria Red and Black upholstery with Inspire motif on frotn seats. The Inspire Edition also comes with a special accessory pack, which adds Rose Gold styling cues across the front grille element, body side moldings and bumper corner protectors. It also includes themed 3D mats, Inspire cushions, rear window sunshades, and a premium leather key cover.

In terms of the equipment list, the Windsor EV Inspire Edition adds optional illuminated glass roof animation and wireless sill plates. This is besides the features carried over from the regular Windsor EV, which include the aforementioned 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 6-way power adjustable driver seat, fixed panoramic sunroof, 8.8-inch digital gauge cluster, ventilated front seats, 256-colour ambient lighting, keyless entry and go, wireless phone charger and powered tailgate.
In terms of safety, it stays identical to the regular Windsor EV and has features such as 6 airbags, electronic stability control, all-wheel disc brakes, 360 degree camera, rear parking sensors, hill hold assist and electronic parking brake with auto hold.

Underneath, the Windsor EV Inspire Edition stays identical to the regular Windsor EV variants and gets powered by a 38kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 332km. This battery pack gets paired to a single electric motor, making 136PS of power and 200Nm of torque. Here are the specifications:

In terms of rivals, the competition for the Windsor EV Inspire Edition includes other mass market EVs such as the Tata Nexon EV, Tata Curvv EV and the Hyundai Creta electric. Alternatively, MG also sells the ZS EV alongside the Windsor EV in the same segment.
The festive rush is on! And MG clearly doesn’t want to miss out. If you were in the market for an EV, the Windsor EV would be one of our top recommendations, and now with the Inspire Edition adding more features and a unique personality to the car, it makes for an even better deal. Hurry up, because there are only 300 units being made!
