MG Windsor EV Pro’s Larger Battery Pack Becomes More Affordable! New Exclusive Pro Variant Priced From Rs 12.25 Lakh!

Just a few days after launching the Windsor EV Pro, MG has now launched a new variant for the Pro series - a more affordable one! The new variant is called the Exclusive Pro and becomes the entry-level trim if you want the Windsor with the larger battery pack. 

Deliveries for this variant will begin from the first week of June. Here’s a detailed look at its pricing and what all it offers: 

Price

The Windsor Exclusive Pro is priced at Rs 12.25 lakh plus Rs 4.5 per km if you buy the EV via the BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) route. If you intend to purchase it outright, then the price jumps to Rs 17.25 lakh (ex-showroom). 

Here is the pricing of the new Exclusive Pro with respect to the Essence variant which is the top-spec trim with the smaller battery and the Essence Pro which is the fully-loaded variant with the larger battery pack: 

As you can see, the Exclusive Pro slots in between the Essence and the Essence Pro variant. It is slightly over Rs 1 lakh more expensive than the Essence trim, and Rs 85,000 more affordable than the Essence Pro. While it offers a greater range than the Essence, it misses out on the top-spec features that you get with the Essence. 

Exclusive Pro Variant: What Is It? 

The Exclusive Pro variant is the new entry-point for the larger battery pack, which was earlier limited to the top-spec Essence Pro variant. With this move, the 52.9 kWh battery becomes more accessible. 

The 52.9 kWh battery pack offers a claimed range of 449 km (MIDC). It is mated to the same motor which makes 136 PS and 200 Nm, which is constant across all trims. 

It is offered in three shades: Pearl White, Starry Black and Turquoise Green. It comes with the 18-inch alloy wheels that we have already seen on the Essence Pro. 

The Exclusive Pro variant gets a dual-tone Ivory and Black interior which adds to the premium appeal. Furthermore, it gets the top-spec 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system connected to 9 speakers for an enriching audio experience! As from the missing ADAS badge, we can tell that this variant misses out on ADAS features which the top-spec Essence Pro gets.

The Windsor takes on the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400 EV. The addition of the new variant gives a wider set of buyers a chance to access the larger battery pack. It becomes the perfect variant for those who are okay to miss out on some top-spec features but need the extra 100 odd km of range for inter-city commuting.
