BMW Motorrad has announced a series of updates for its global motorcycle range for the year 2027. The changes are largely limited to new factory option packages, fresh paint schemes, and equipment revisions rather than major mechanical overhauls. The updated models will be available to order through BMW Motorrad dealerships from August 2026.
More Equipment Across Popular Models
The BMW F 900 XR and F 900 R now get a revised Comfort Package that includes the M Endurance Chain (new), cruise control, keyless ignition, taller windshield, etc.
On the BMW S 1000 RR, the M Sport edition receives a new Blackstorm Metallic / M Motorsport colour scheme, replacing the earlier Sport / Bluestone Metallic finish. It also gets a tinted windscreen and forged wheels. BMW has also added a USB charging port to the Dynamic Package, while the M Package now includes forged wheels as standard, with carbon wheels becoming an optional alternative.

The BMW S 1000 R also benefits from a USB charging port as part of its Comfort Package.
M Models Get New Track-Focused Packages
The biggest updates are reserved for BMW's M motorcycles.
The BMW M 1000 RR gets a new third-generation frame claimed to be around 1.3kg lighter, with revised flex characteristics and thinner wall sections aimed at improving chassis performance. It now comes with forged wheels as standard, while carbon wheels are offered as an option.

BMW has also replaced the earlier Competition Package with two new Track Packages across the M 1000 RR, M 1000 R, and M 1000 XR. These bundle accessories such as the endurance chain or lap trigger, carbon package, MBillet package, and, depending on the package, carbon wheels.
Touring Models Receive Practical Updates
The BMW R 1300 R gains optional pannier holders along with a new Touring Package that adds a centre stand and central locking. The R 1300 RS can now also be ordered with factory-fitted pannier holders in the Performance trim.
Meanwhile, BMW has refreshed the K 1600 GTL, GT, Bagger, and Grand America with a new Imperial Blue Metallic Style Edition II, replacing several previous premium paint options. Depending on the model, the updates also include revised seats, forged wheels, or decorative wheel tape.

The BMW R 12 G/S also receives a new Frozen Brooklyn Grey Metallic finish for its Option 719 variants, replacing the outgoing Sandrover matte colour.
ZigSays
While there are no all-new motorcycles or major performance upgrades for 2027, BMW Motorrad has focused on refining its existing line-up with new equipment packages, fresh colour options and a handful of meaningful mechanical changes, particularly for the M 1000 RR. These updates should make the range more appealing to buyers looking for greater customisation without altering the motorcycles' core character.
