BMW Motorrad has unveiled the new M 1000 RS, its most powerful hyper naked motorcycle yet. Based on the BMW M 1000 R with the M Competition Package, the new RS gets the full 218 PS output of the M 1000 RR’s superbike engine, along with extensive carbon fibre and titanium components.
The BMW M 1000 RS is powered by the same 999cc, inline-four engine as the M 1000 RR, producing 218 PS. BMW claims a kerb weight of just 196 kg, giving the motorcycle an exceptional power-to-weight ratio.
The hyper naked gets a short-stroke M throttle, a full titanium exhaust system and the M Track Package as standard. It also features Dynamic Damping Control (DDC), Riding Modes Pro and a Gearshift Assistant Pro.

The M 1000 RS gets a distinctive dark aesthetic, with matt carbon fibre M winglets featuring RS badging. The bike also features M Carbon wheels, a brushed aluminium fuel tank, new graphics and an M seat with an Alcantara-like finish.
The rear section is borrowed from the BMW M 1000 RR, further highlighting its superbike connection. BMW has also equipped the bike with M brake and clutch levers, bar-end mirrors, heated grips, cruise control and tyre pressure monitoring.

The BMW M 1000 RS will be available at BMW Motorrad dealerships from March 2027. The motorcycle is priced at EUR 40,000 (approximately Rs 41 lakh) in Germany.
With its full-blown superbike engine, lightweight construction and limited production run, the M 1000 RS takes BMW’s hyper-naked ambitions to a new level. However, it remains to be seen whether BMW Motorrad will bring this limited-run motorcycle to India. Limited to just 1,000 units worldwide, the BMW M 1000 RS will go up against the Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP and the KTM 1390 Super Duke R Evo.
