July 2024 was a mixed bag of bike and scooter launches in India. From the world’s first CNG bike to the most expensive scooter in India to India’s most expensive single-cylinder bike, it was quite an exciting month for the two-wheeler enthusiasts. So let’s get cracking and see what we got:
The world’s first CNG bike was launched on July 5, 2024. It’s powered by a 125cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that makes 9.5PS and 9.7Nm.
It’s primarily fueled by CNG, but has a 2-litre petrol tank as a backup/reserve unit in case the bike runs out of CNG. The Freedom 125 has a claimed range of 330km (102km/kg range on CNG and 65km/l range on petro)l.
The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is based on the same platform as the Himalayan 450.
The roadster gets the same 450cc ‘Sherpa’ engine but has 17-inch wheels and lesser suspension travel than its ADV sibling, to suit its road-going nature. It comes in vibrant colour schemes and you can find out more in our launch story.
Hero Xtreme 160R 4V has been updated for 2024, and now comes only in one variant.

Hero has tweaked the styling of the bike, given it a new colour, and it now gets dual-channel ABS as standard. With all the updates, it’s now priced Rs 2,000 more than the outgoing iteration’s top-end variant. You can check it out in this launch story.
Yezdi Adventure gets cheaper in its 2024 avatar. Its base variant is now Rs 6,000 more affordable than the previous model’s base variant.
While the engine displacement remains the same as before – 334cc – there are some mechanical changes to it. The gearbox has been revised as well. There are also new colours to choose from. You can read about all its changes here.
The Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono is the most expensive single-cylinder bike in India.
It comes in as a CBU (completely built unit), but since its engine displacement is lower than what the free trade agreement with Thailand requires, it attracts full import duties, making it more expensive than its more powerful sibling, the Hypermotard 950 RVE. Here’s everything you need to know about it.
The BMW CE 04 is the most expensive scooter in India.
The electric scooter looks quite futuristic and is powered by a 15kW motor. That allows it to accelerate from 0 to 50kmph in a claimed 2.6 seconds. It’s equipped with some interesting features like a 10.25-inch TFT display, 3 riding modes, cornering ABS, and more. Complete details in this launch story.
