MG had showcased the Majestor SUV at the Bharat Mobility Show in 2025, and after a year of vigorous planning and testing, MG is all set to unveil this SUV in the Indian market on February 12. The MG Majestor is expected to have three rows of seats, a ladder-on-frame chassis, 4x4 capability, and is expected to be sold alongside the Gloster, which also has similar offerings. The Majestor is expected to sit above the Gloster as a more premium offering, and will feature certain distinctive additions that will be specific to the Majestor.
Since the car is already in pictures, we have an idea of what all the changes will be as compared to the Gloster. Here’s a quick look at them side by side:
Where the MG Gloster’s exterior design is built with elegance and a strong character, the Majestor’s design looks more rugged, tough, and dominating.

Compared to the Gloster, the Majestor features a redesigned front fascia with a massive gloss-black grille, a split headlight design with slimmer LED DRLs and headlights integrated into the bumper. The front bumper also houses a new skid plate finished in satin silver and front parking sensors.
From the side, the silhouette profile remains identical to the Gloster, resembling that of a full-size, bulky SUV. MG has not yet disclosed the exact dimensions of the India-spec Majestor, but taking reference from the international market where it is sold as Maxus D90 Max, we expect the Majestor to be slightly larger than the Gloster.

What we do know is that the SUV will sit on new 20-inch alloy wheels and get chunky body claddings all around, including the wheel arches as well.
At the rear, compared to the Gloster, the Majestor has a sleeker and more futuristic approach that is designed to create a dominant appearance.

It sports new connected LED taillights on the redesigned flat tailgate, and what’s also new is the rear bumper with chunky body claddings and a sporty diffuser and twin exhaust pipes. It also sports massive ‘MAJESTOR’ badging on the tailgate, for even more attention.

MG has not yet released any details about the interior for the India-spec Majestor, but we can get a brief idea about it by looking at the pictures of the Kuwait-spec model.

Compared to the Gloster, the upcoming model features a dual-tone interior layout with a mix of brown, white and black colour theme that looks premium, especially with the soft touch material. The three-spoke steering wheel, however, is carried over from the Gloster.

The dashboard layout is very clean and elegant, with the centre stage taken by a touchscreen infotainment screen, below which are the rectangular AC vents. What some users might appreciate is the minimal use of touch-based controls, which provides a toggle-style control for operating the AC. Moving down, there are two circular knobs to select the drive modes and operate the four-wheel drive functions.

Speaking of upholstery, the Majestor is expected to have a dual-tone brown and white leatherette upholstery with darker brown inserts across door panels. The second row of seats can be configured as either a captain seat or a bench. Each row comes with AC vents, while the second row is also expected to feature charging sockets, an air purification system with a dedicated screen, and dials for temperature adjustments as well.

The MG Majestor is expected to carry forward much of the equipment from the Gloster.

It is likely to get a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment screen. Other premium features that are a part of the package include powered front seats with heating, ventilation, and massage functions, an 8-inch digital driver’s instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker JBL sound system, 64 colour ambient lighting, triple zone automatic climate control, a powered tailgate, 7 terrain modes, heated ORVMs, automatic parking assist, and connected car tech.

In terms of safety, the MG Majestor is expected to come loaded with 7 airbags, a Level 2 ADAS suite, a 360-degree camera with front and rear parking sensors, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, an electro-mechanical differential lock, a driver fatigue reminder system, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Under the hood, the MG Majestor is expected to feature the same engine options as the Gloster, which will be offered mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Given its positioning, the carmaker is also likely to give it an optional four-wheel drive system too.

Here are the Gloster’s detailed engine specifications:
|

2-litre twin-turbo diesel |

The Majestor will sit above the Gloster in MG’s lineup, and given all the additions, it is likely to be priced around the Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. Notably, we could also see it retailing from the premium ‘MG Select’ dealership network for better differentiation with the Gloster.

While launch details remain unconfirmed, we expect MG to reveal the prices later this month, after the unveil which is slated for February 12.

Once launched, the Majestor will enter a territory which is primarily dominated by the Toyota Fortuner, specifically the Fortuner Legender. Other rivals include the Skoda Kodiaq and the Jeep Meridian. The Majestor will also face heavy competition from the upcoming Volkswagen Tayron R-Line.
MG has put in a lot of work to make the Majestor stand out, and it really does. From a commanding and dominating stance to a modern and feature-loaded cabin, the Majestor has it all to stay strong in the segment. Not to forget the very capable 4x4 drivetrain that is also on offer. But going by the history of Gloster in India, MG still needs to establish itself as a premium offering, especially in a segment where Toyotas have ruled in India for almost two decades now.
What’s left now is the official price reveal of the car, which will ultimately determine the Majestor’s destiny in India and whether or not it will be a smart buy.
