MG Motor India has today given us our first glance at the India-spec Majestor with a teaser. While the SUV has been spotted testing numerous times in spy shots over the years and has had a brief appearance at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, we now have official confirmation of its launch date scheduled next month. Let’s take a look at what the teaser shows:
Our first look at the new India-spec Majestor reveals a car that looks almost identical to the global version shown previously. From the teaser, we can see that the side profile gets a boxy silhouette and tall stance, along with thick cladding on the wheel arches and a special vertical insert on the front fenders.

It also retains the same design for the 19-inch silver alloy wheels as the car shown last year. Besides this, we also get to see the front-end, which also unsurprisingly remains almost identical to the global version.
It features a massive rectangular grille with chrome detailing, with a chunky skid plate. Flanking these are vertically-stacked headlamps, along with sleek DRLs mounted on the top and edges of the grille.

You can also see a front camera and a radar sensor mounted under the MG logo, which confirms the presence of ADAS as well as a 360-degree camera in the Majestor.
Based on the same platform as the Gloster, the Majestor is expected to be closely related to its sibling underneath, albeit with upgrades in almost every department. Outside, it features a bold and imposing design with a massive grille at the front, along with an upright stance and 19-inch alloy wheels on the side. Towards the rear-end, it gets a connected LED taillamp cluster along with heavy cladding on the bumper which houses the twin-tip exhaust.

Inside, it is likely to get an all-new dashboard layout with a new colour combination for the cabin and upholstery compared to the Gloster, while 6 and 7-seat layouts are expected to be carried over.
Its feature list is expected to include a dual-screen setup inside for the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster, powered, heated and massaging front seats, premium sound system, three-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, multiple wireless phone chargers and ambient lighting.

Safety-wise it could get an enhanced Level 2 ADAS suite, 6 airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, 360-degree camera and front and rear parking sensors.
Under the hood, the Majestor is expected to be powered by the same 2-litre diesel and twin-turbo diesel engines offered in the Gloster. Both of these come standard with an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the latter is also offered with a four-wheel drive setup. Here are the detailed specifications of the Gloster:

MG will be launching the new Majestor on February 12. While we await the official pricing, the Majestor is expected to be priced from Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom) and is likely to be sold via the premium ‘MG Select’ dealership network.

It will compete with other full size SUVs such as the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq and the upcoming Volkswagen Tayron R Line.
It’s been a while since MG has been spied testing the Majestor, and after many delays the SUV is now here! With a slew of equipment, powerful engines and a massive footprint, it is sure to give the segment-leader Fortuner a run for its money!
