Remember the Mahindra XUV400 showcased back in November by Bollywood actress Ananya Pandey? Well, the auction for the special one-off EV, which was initially supposed to begin on December 10, 2022 is now going to start from 11am, January 26, 2023.
We'd say the winner is probably a very lucky person, as the one-off car will now be handed over by Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group, and that too at Mahindra's exclusive event during the India inauguration weekend of Formula E in Hyderabad. Moreover, the successful bidder will also get an exclusive pass to the first round of the Formula E championship that takes place in the Hyderabad Street Circuit.
Now to the car itself. This isn't your usual special edition SUV. It has been designed in collaboration with Pratab Bose, Chief Design Officer at Mahindra and fashion designer, Rimzim Dadu. And whatever amount the bid tallies up to, the whole sum will be sent as proceeds to a charitable cause, either at the discretion of the winner or amongst the winners of Mahindra's Rise Sustainability Champion Awards.
Furthermore, irrespective of the choice made by the winner of the bid, Mahindra will match the price and distribute it to the aforementioned award winner. So, at the end of the day, it's set to support a good cause.
As you'd expect, the special one-off XUV400 features bespoke design touches both on the inside and outside. The exterior is painted in a Rimzim Dadu Dazzle Blue hue with copper highlights all-around and there's also the 'Rimizim Dadu X Bose' emblem at various places.
The same motif is also stitched on the headrest and rear armrest, while blue stitching and highlights contrast the all-black interior. All of these changes undeniably give the SUV a separate identity from its standard avatar.
