The Mahindra XUV400 was in dire need of an update, and this new spied mule hints at good things to come with new features

  • New Mahindra XUV400 variant spied with fresh interiors.

  • Changes include a bigger infotainment system and fully digital driver’s display.

  • Also gets horizontal central AC vents alongside a revised AC control panel.

  • A similar treatment could follow inside the XUV300 facelift as well.

  • Battery specifications are likely to remain the same.

  • No exterior revisions are apparent from the spy shots.

We know that the Mahindra XUV300 and its electric avatar, the XUV400, are due for an update. Multiple spy shots have been spotted until now, but this is the first time we’ve got an unobstructed view of the new XUV400’s interior. Multiple images showcasing the new cabin and features have surfaced online and here’s what we can decipher:

From the looks of it, the spy shots suggest a new top-end variant instead of an all-out facelift. We say this because there are no apparent exterior revisions. However, the cabin has been tweaked significantly. Changes come in the form of the bigger infotainment system, horizontal central AC vents, and the revised AC control panel beneath it.

The overall dashboard design is still familiar from a passenger perspective, although the driver now gets a fully digital display. A tyre pressure monitoring system can also be spotted on the digital binnacle.

While this new interior has been papped on the XUV400, we reckon a similar treatment could be carried forward to the upcoming XUV300 facelift. Supporting our speculation are the numerous previous spy shots which hint at a similarish cabin layout for the ICE-powered SUV.

Both the new XUV400 and the facelifted XUV300 are expected to break cover rather soon. Just like the XUV400, no powertrain changes are expected for the XUV300 facelift.

The new variant for the XUV400 will be priced steeper than its top-spec variant, which is priced at Rs 19.39 lakh (ex-showroom). Similarly, the XUV300 facelift is also expected to receive a price bump over its current prices, which start from Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The XUV400 will continue to rival the Tata Nexon EV, while the 2024 XUV300 will put up a stronger fight against the likes of the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, and Renault Kiger.
