Honda filed a design patent in India for its popular maxi-scooter, the Forza 350, back in December 2022 and it was journaled in February this year. So, is this sporty maxi-scooter coming to India?

It’s unlikely. Honda has a history of patenting designs for foreign automobiles while never introducing them in our market, so it's quite probable that this Forza design patent is just another instance of the Japanese company securing its intellectual property. In fact, Honda even patented the CBR250RR back in early 2022 and nothing ever came of it.

Interestingly, Honda has sold a few units of the Forza 300 in India and the brand even had plans to launch the Forza 350 here. But, given the fact that the 300+cc scooter market is extremely niche in India, the manufacturer is unlikely to do so. The situation isn’t helped by the fact that there are the likes of the BMW C 400 GT and the Keeway Vieste 300 on sale in India, for those looking for the maxi-scooter experience. Those looking for a more affordable option can check out the sporty Yamaha Aerox 155.
