The new year kicked off with litre-class domination, as the ZX-10R stormed to the top of the superbike sales chart in January 2026. After months of middleweights and sport-tourers leading the charge, buyers seemed to have returned to outright supersport performance. For many, there’s simply no substitute for a proper litre-class superbike, and January’s numbers prove it.

The undisputed leader this month, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, is one of the most well-known superbikes in India. It saw a massive sales jump of 1471.42% as compared to December 2025, going from just 7 units to a whopping 110 units. Its already lower entry price as compared to others bundled along with a discount of up to Rs 2.5 lakh in January, contributed to its sales.

Close behind is the ever-popular Kawasaki Z900 with 81 units (30.64% sales boost), in comparison to 62 units sold last month. The Z900 continues to be India’s go-to upgrade for riders stepping into big-bike territory. Its inline-four punch, comfortable ergonomics, decent list of features and competitive pricing keep it consistently near the top of the charts.

The legend refuses to slow down. With 52 units sold, the Suzuki Hayabusa remains one of the most aspirational bikes across the globe. In the last month of 2025 it sold 41 units, so there was a 26.82% increase this time around. Brutally fast, unmistakably styled, and carrying decades of legacy – the ‘Busa continues to attract buyers who want presence as much as performance.

In fourth place sits the Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX with 17 units, another Kawasaki bike that saw a huge leap (183.33%) in month-on-month sales. In December 2025, 6 units were sold. A litre-class sport-tourer offering comfort without sacrificing speed, it appeals to riders who prefer crossing states over chasing lap times.

Rounding off the list is the Triumph Daytona 660 with 13 units sold, which is 2 units more than the previous month. Its triple-cylinder character, accessible performance, and relatively relaxed ergos make it a compelling alternative in the middleweight sport segment.
