About Hero
Latest Update on Hero Bikes
At Hero World 2024, Hero launched the all-new Hero Xtreme 125R, a direct rival to the TVS Raider 125 and also unveiled the all-new Hero Mavrick 440. The Mavrick 440 is based on the Harley-Davidson X440’s platform. In 2023, Hero MotoCorp revived the iconic nameplate, Karizma, in the form of the Hero Karizma XMR. Also launched was the Harley-Davidson X440, developed in partnership with Hero Bikes. The X440 is the most affordable Harley-Davidson bike on sale. Apart from that, in 2023, Hero showcased its two new scooter offerings, the Hero Xoom 160 maxi-scooter and the Hero Xoom 125R. These two scooters were also showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024. Currently, the company is working on a bigger XPulse based on the X440’s platform and it has been spotted testing. Also spotted testing are the upcoming Hero Xpulse 210 and the Xtreme 210 and after looking at the spy shots, it looks like the Karizma XMR’s liquid-cooled engine will be powering those motorcycles.
Origin
Hero MotoCorp, formerly known as Hero Honda, is an Indian motorcycle and scooter manufacturer that has been in operation since 1984. The company was formed as a joint venture between Hero Cycles, one of India's largest bicycle manufacturers, and Honda Motor Company of Japan.
The partnership between Hero Cycles and Honda Motor Company was a major success, with the two companies quickly becoming the largest motorcycle manufacturers in India. The joint venture resulted in the formation of Hero Honda Motors Limited, with Hero Cycles owning a majority stake in the company.
In the years that followed, Hero Honda Motors Limited became known for producing some of the most popular motorcycles in India, including the CD 100, Splendor, and Passion. These motorcycles were known for their reliability, affordability, and fuel efficiency, and quickly became bestsellers in the Indian market.
In 2010, after nearly three decades of partnership, Hero Cycles and Honda Motor Company decided to end their joint venture. The split was amicable, with both companies agreeing to continue to use the "Hero" brand name and logo for a period of time.
After the split, Hero MotoCorp continued to manufacture and sell motorcycles and scooters under the Hero brand. Today, Hero MotoCorp is the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India, with a market share of over 35%. Hero also collaborated with Speedbrain to develop a rally bike and compete in the Dakar Rally, the world’s most gruelling off-road race.
Production facilities/Dealership Network
Hero MotoCorp currently has five manufacturing facilities in India based at Dharuhera, Gurugram, Neemrana, Haridwar and Halol. The company also boasts the country’s most advanced R&D facility called the CIT (Centre for Innovation and Technology) outside Jaipur. The company also claims to have over 9000 customer touchpoints across India.
Greatest Hits
Hero (Honda) CD100 - the original “Fill it, Shut it, Forget it” bike which delivered amazing mileage for the masses.
Hero (Honda) Splendor - the successor to the CD100, and the best-selling motorcycle in India for three decades.
Hero (Honda) CBZ - India’s first performance-oriented 150cc 4-stroke motorcycle; sparked the 4-stroke performance revolution in the country.
Hero (Honda) Karizma - India’s first sporty 5-stroke bike to have an engine over 200cc. Was considered the pinnacle of performance for years.
Hero Impulse - India’s first dual sport motorcycle. Although not a runaway sales success, garnered a massive cult following.
Hero Xpulse 200 - Hero’s follow-up to the Impulse - larger engine, more capability and an optional rally kit make it perfect for off-road enthusiasts.

Xtreme 160R 4V4.675 reviewsappreciate its robust 163 cc engine
Having ridden the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V for a good number of kilometers, I appreciate its robust 163 cc engine which is good for 15 hp and 14 Nm of torque, a delight for quick accelerations and overtaking. The bike's aggressive stance and sharp graphics ensure that it stands out in a crowd. Its lightweight frame and responsive handling make it an enjoyable ride in urban environments. On the downside, the seat comfort is a bit wanting for longer rides and vibration becomes noticeable at higher speeds.

Passion Plus4.3192 reviewsTimeless Elegance and Efficient Commuting
" The appropriate two words that can captivate the riders of the Hero Passion Plus are its vintage looks and its goal-oriented usability. People like the vehicle for its compact size, powerful engine, the ergonomics that makes it look more stylish and at the same time a great friend out there during a drive. The actual product features including the alloy wheel, electric start, and lots of storage space that got high rating. Meanwhile on the negative aspects, they note that their emails could use better suspension on rough roads and suggests improvements in braking systems to add safety."

Super Splendor XTEC4.4189 reviewssmooth ride even on rough patches
I have been commuting on my Hero Super Splendor XTEC for over six months now. One thing that stood out immediately after my purchase was its feature- ich composition, especially considering its price point. With a digital instrument cluster featuring Bluetooth connectivity and call alerts, it feels quite modern for a 125cc bike. Riding this bike in city traffic is a breeze thanks to its i3S technology for fuel saving start stop and a powerful 10.73 bhp engine, which provides a smooth ride even on rough patches.

Xoom 1104.7278 reviewsThe scooter's design is youth oriented
After a few months of riding the Hero Xoom 110, I have found it largely a joy to navigate through busy city traffic. Its 110.9 cc engine, delivering a modest 8 bhp and 8.7 Nm of torque, makes it perfect for ride on highways. The scooter's design is youth oriented with sharp lines and a sporty flair and it comes loaded with features like a full digital instrument cluster and LED headlight which adds to its modern appeal. However, its lightweight nature while great for agility, feels a bit underwhelming on highways where higher stability is preferred.
