Honda Activa 6G Review: Six Key Takeaways

Ever since the time the TVS Star City+ was handed over to me, I haven’t been able to log many miles on the Honda Activa 125. This means, the Activa 125’s running was mostly restricted to my locality for running errands. During this time period my desktop went kaput and I had to take it to the service centre to get it fixed. Instead of calling up a friend to hold the CPU in his hand while I rode the motorcycle, it got easily slotted on the footboard and I was able to take it to the service centre on my own without any trouble.
On the few occasions when I took the Honda Activa 125 to the office it never failed to amaze me. The engine runs smoothly and the ample power on tap means overtaking on the highway requires just a twist of the wrist. Riding the scooter with a pillion isn’t taxing as one doesn’t feel cramped for space on the Activa 125 owing to the long seats. Moreover the chunky grab rail also helps. The Honda Activa 125 didn’t burn a huge hole in my wallet too as it returned an overall fuel efficiency of 46.6kmpl.
While most of the stories with the Activa 125 have been happy ones, it has had its own set of troubles. It struggles to come to life via the electric starter and does demand a few kicks to get it going. The disc brake was among the highlights of the Honda Activa 125 but they have started to fade and one has to apply more effort on the lever. Given the fact that the scooter has covered just 3,500km this seems worrisome and we guess it’s time the Honda Activa 125 makes a visit to the service centre and hopefully all the flaws will be rectified.
