We were one of the first to break news that Tata Motors is prepping the heavily revised 2024 Nexon. The treatment is expected to be similar to what Maruti Suzuki has done with the Baleno, where it isn’t a ground-up new vehicle but is nonetheless heavily updated. Tata’s revised SUV has now been spotted one more time and the latest spy shots give us a look at one of its design elements.

The 2024 Tata Nexon will get one design touch that’s trending in many new cars: connected LED tail lamps. The illuminated centre strip connects the tail lamps, which have a sharper ‘X’ motif than the current car’s. While the silhouette is similar to the existing Nexon’s, the 2024 model will get a heavily revamped front end with split headlamps.

Earlier spy shots offered us a glimpse into the cabin, which houses the carmaker’s new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that debuted in the 2023 Harrier and Safari. Apart from that, the SUV is expected to get the same new 7-inch digital driver’s display from its premium siblings, six airbags and probably, certain ADAS features as well.

Another update for the Nexon could be underneath the hood. Tata might plonk in its new 125PS 1.2-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol engine from the Curvv, which could also be paired with the DCT as mentioned earlier. It could also get a CNG option, while the 1.5-litre diesel engine and existing electric powertrain options should be present as well.

All of these updates means the Nexon, which is currently priced at Rs 7.79 lakh (ex-showroom), could be dearer when it goes on sale in 2024. It will continue to rival the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, and Nissan Magnite. On the other hand, the updated Nexon EV will renew its rivalry with the Mahindra XUV400.
