Renault India has been on a streak lately to update its entire lineup, and now it is the turn of the Kwid to receive a minor facelift. With most of the changes being cosmetic, the 2026 version of the hatchback is priced from Rs 4.52 lakh (ex-showroom) making it one of the most affordable packages in the entry-level segment. Let’s take a look at the changes in detail:
The 2026 Renault Kwid is available in a choice of two trims called Evolution and Climber. Here is its detailed pricelist:
|
Variant |
Price (ex-showroom) |
|
|
MT |
AMT |
|
|
Evolution |
Rs 4.53 lakh |
Rs 4.90 lakh |
|
Climber |
Rs 5.15 lakh |
Rs 5.61 lakh |
Compared to the pre-facelift version, the new Kwid is now more affordable by up to Rs 32,000 based on the variant. Furthermore, the carmaker is offering an additional Rs 15,000 off on the Climber trim, if you book the car via the official Renault website.
On the outside, the Kwid retains its muscular, yet compact proportions. Up front you get to see a split headlamp setup with a ‘V-shaped’ grille, sculpted bumper, a silver skid plate and LED DRLs. The only tweak seen here is the new 2D Renault logo on its nose, which we have seen on cars like the Triber and Kiger previously.

The side profile too carries over the same silhouette as the pre-facelift version, except the addition of new wheel covers for the 14-inch steel wheels and reworked roof rails with white inserts. It retains the chunky wheel arch cladding, flap-type door handles and contrasting ORVMs as before.

Just like the front-end, the rear of the car also features the new 2D Renault logo, with no further changes to the profile. Other design elements include a roof spoiler, black cladding on the bumper, vertical reflectors and a silver skid plate to give it a tough look.

In terms of colour options, the Kwid retains its chic palette with the following shades on offer: Fiery Red, Zanskar Blue, Ice Cool White and Moonlight Silver. The top-spec Climber variant now also features a contrast black roof and white ORVMs as standard.
Inside as well, the changes are cosmetic and minor. You still get to see the upright dashboard with ‘KWID’ lettering on the passenger side, a piano black finish around the touchscreen, and chrome inserts on the rotary climate control knobs. What is new here is the updated three-spoke steering wheel with the new logo as well.

Besides this, the Kwid continues to offer a spacious cabin experience for its size and black fabric upholstery with yellow inserts.

The Kwid’s feature-list remains unchanged compared to the outgoing version, and it is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, manual AC, semi-digital instrument cluster, all four power windows, 2-speakers, steering-mounted controls and power-adjustable ORVMs.

It also features safety equipment such as 6 airbags, rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, rear view camera, traction control and three-point seatbelts for all occupants.
Under the hood, the Kwid is powered by a 1-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, with manual and automatic gearbox options:
|
Engine |
1-litre naturally aspirated petrol |
|
Transmission |
5-speed manual/5-speed AMT |
|
Power |
69 PS |
|
Torque |
92.5 Nm |
AMT- Automated Manual Transmission

Do note that Renault also offers a dealer-fitted CNG retrofit kit as well, which is priced at Rs 70,449.
In terms of rivals, the Kwid goes up against the Maruti Alto K10 and Maruti S-Presso.
While being a budget offering, the Kwid has always stood out as being a more youthful and modern option in the entry-level segment, while blending in some of the toughness with its contemporary looks and capable engine option. This facelift, however, feels like too little, especially given the tiny hatchback’s almost 11 year old age. If Renault wants to be a serious volume player at the lower-end of the market, it needs to give the Kwid more comprehensive updates including an improved crash test score to keep it relevant with the times.
