2026 Tata Sierra EV: Exterior

The ICE-powered Tata Sierra was already a hit in terms of design and was loved by fans all around. Ever since its launch, the crowd had been eagerly waiting to feast their eyes on the electrified version. Tata has not disappointed its loyal customers; the design of the Sierra EV is robust and elegant, while still paying homage to the design of the original 1992 Sierra. The overall design is still retro-inspired and looks very similar to its ICE version, but that is not a bad thing at all.

Starting with the fascia, the Sierra EV drops the glossy black bar that incorporates the lighting setup. Replacing it is a body coloured trim that spans the width of the car and houses a full-length connected LED DRL and horizontal LED headlights placed right below them, similar to its ICE counterpart, along with a Tata logo at the centre. The bumper has been slightly tweaked with body coloured as well as glossy black elements, and it also provides a small air dam on the corner to improve aero efficiency. It continues to get vertically stacked LED foglights and a faux silver brushed skid plate at the bottom to improve the stance of the SUV.

In profile, the Sierra EV boasts QWD badging for the all-wheel-drive variants and also gets dual-tone aero-optimised 19-inch alloy wheels. All other design elements remain the same, including a squared rear window, blacked-out rear pillar, glossy black body cladding, roof rails, and flush door handles for a modern look.

At the rear, the Sierra EV’s design is identical to the ICE counterparts, leaving almost nothing to differentiate them except for the Sierra.ev badging on the tailgate. The Sierra EV gets connected LED taillights, a flat tailgate design, a raised bumper, a short rear overhang, an integrated rear spoiler, and a shark fin antenna. All of these combined give the car an unmistakably strong road presence.

2026 Tata Sierra EV: Interior

Step inside, and you will instantly realise the similarity between the cabin of the ICE-powered Sierra and the Sierra EV. The Sierra EV continues to offer a very minimalistic design for the cabin with the dual-tone colour grey and white theme, leather upholstery, premium soft-touch materials, a gloss-black steering wheel, and a floating centre console with a triple-screen setup dominating the dashboard.

These three 12.3-inch screens include a display for the digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system and another screen positioned ahead of the co-passenger. The dashboard also offers a soundbar for the 12-speaker JBL Black sound system, which is placed in a panel below the AC vents.

The rear seat experience is enhanced with large windows with dedicated sunshades, “boss mode” adjustment for the co-driver seat, rear AC vents, and a panoramic sunroof. The overall space at the rear is very generous and enough to fit three adults, just like its ICE version.

Apart from these features, a head-up display (HUD) is an added piece of equipment above the Sierra ICE.

2026 Tata Sierra EV: Features And Safety

Speaking of features, the Sierra EV borrows all of its equipment from the ICE-powered Sierra, which is one of the most feature-loaded cars in the segment. The Sierra EV features a triple screen layout with 12.3-inch screens for the digital instrument cluster, passenger entertainment screen, and a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, powered tailgate, ambient lighting, a 12-speaker JBL Black sound system, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, drive modes and terrain modes, and wireless phone charger.

In terms of safety, the Sierra EV is packed with features like a Level-2 ADAS suite, 360-degree camera with front and rear sensors, 6 airbags, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, electronic stability control, traction control, hill hold control, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and all-wheel disc brakes.

The ICE-powered Sierra has already scored a full 5-star safety rating at Bharat NCAP, and the EV counterpart is expected to perform well as well. Overall, being a Tata, a strong baseline of safety is always guaranteed.

2026 Tata Sierra EV: Battery Specifications

Tata is offering the Sierra EV with a total of 2 battery pack options. These battery pack options comprise a 63 kWh unit and a larger 75 kWh unit, both of which also support fast charging with a claimed driving range of 565 km and 665 km, respectively.

2026 Tata Sierra EV: Rivals

It sits between the Tata Currv EV and the bigger Harrier EV in the Tata Motors lineup.

In the electric compact SUV segment, the Tata Sierra EV competes with eSUVs like the Hyundai Creta Electric, VinFast VF6VinFast VF7, MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE 6, Maruti e Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella.

ZigSays…

Tata has launched the much-awaited Sierra EV in India, and it shows how much the company has evolved. The Tata Sierra EV feels like a feature-loaded package with two battery pack options and even the new quad-wheel drive system into a product that feels genuinely premium.

More importantly, it successfully blends the nostalgia of an iconic nameplate with modern design and EV technology. Tata is aiming high to establish itself in the segment, and the Sierra EV does have strong potential to become one of the most compelling electric SUVs in its segment.
