Royal Enfield is planning to expand the Slide School to more cities in the future

  • The Royal Enfield Slide School program costs between Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,500.
  • You could use your own bike or choose between the BS6 Himalayan and FT411.
  • The training session lasts for 3 hours.
  • Flat-tracking in India is still at a very nascent stage. Apart from a few events in Rider Mania or India Bike Week, you hardly see this sport on our shores. But Royal Enfield is pretty darn serious about this and it has started its own ‘Slide School’ (cool name, innit?) in association with Big Rock Dirt Park. You can register on Royal Enfield’s website or through Big Rock Dirt Park’s website.

There’s no doubt that motorsports in India is a very expensive affair. However, Royal Enfield aims to change that by engaging as many people as possible. For that, it has kept the fee for entering the Slide School quite reasonable. If you take your own motorcycle, you only need to pay Rs 1,500 per session. However, you also have the option to opt for a Himalayan BS6 or the FT411, which will set you back by Rs 2,000 and Rs 2,500, respectively. Wondering what the FT411 is? It’s a proper flat-tracker is what it is. Check it out here.

The Slide School doesn’t let you just pay and go hoon around the track. It involves a three-hour training session which includes two hours of saddle time. What’s more? You’ll also be given protective riding gear for the sessions.

Royal Enfield is planning to start off with just three batches per day, with each batch consisting of five participants so that the trainers can focus more on the beginners. As of now, Royal Enfield is starting this off in Bengaluru, but the bike maker is planning to add more cities in the future. So if you are planning to start off in this sport, then head over to Garden City and get yourself some lessons.
