One of the leading tyre makers Michelin launched the MICHELIN X Multi range of tubeless radial tyres for trucks and buses, specially engineered for India and produced from locally from Michelin’s Indian plant. The company says that the new Michelin X Multi Z (steer axle) and the X Multi D (drive axle) tyres have been designed keeping in mind the needs of Indian fleet owners and the country’s road conditions and have been optimised for operating economy.
“We are witnessing a positive momentum of new technology adoption in the Indian commercial vehicle segment and we believe that it is the right time to offer the discerning Indian fleet owner the new world of tubeless tyres,” said Mohan Kumar, Commercial Director, Michelin India. “Our latest tubeless MICHELIN X Multi range have been specially designed and engineered, keeping in mind the tough road and weather conditions of India to offer better and safer driving experience, which is coupled with significantly increased cost efficiencies to businesses that transport goods across the country.”
Some of the features that help the Michelin X Multi radial tubeless truck and bus tyres to achieve these attributes include new tread rubber compound that slows the tread rubber wear rate to offer higher tyre longevity. Another feature is the new wider tread and casing design that allows for better contact with road surface, offering better grip on wet and dry roads.
Michelin says that a special elastic rubber compound for the new crown design reduces tyre damage, thus enhancing its capability to be retreaded. While the reinforced bead design with more metallic wire improves strength and endurance for long distance drives. Company also boast of a new double sector mould technology, which helps in even wear and tear on the tyre and for better handling.
Following the Make in India thought process the Michelin X Multi Z and Michelin X Multi D range of tubeless radial truck and bus tyres will be available at authorised Michelin dealerships pan India with a starting price of Rs 20,000 plus local taxes as applicable.
