Hero MotoCorp has announced that it will be increasing the prices of its product range, including the Hero Splendor, HF Deluxe, Passion Pro, Maestro Edge 125 and other bikes and scooters, from January 2021.
The exact quantum will vary but the maximum premium will be Rs 1,500, so it shouldn’t really affect buying decisions. The company says the price hike is in a bid to partially offset the rising commodity costs including steel, aluminium, plastics, and precious metals. The brand is working on reducing the impact to its customers and also protecting its margins through its savings programme called Leap-2.

Announcing the price hike well in advance is a good thing for customers too, as they can plan their two-wheeler purchase better. This will also help the brand get rid of its pending inventory as customers will tend to make their purchase before the price hikes come into effect. This way, Hero MotoCorp can close the calendar year on a positive note, all the while keeping customers happy. At the moment, the most affordable bike from the brand is the Hero HF Deluxe, starting at Rs 48,950, and the flagship motorcycle is the Hero Xtreme 200S, priced at Rs 1,15,714 (both ex-showroom Delhi).
