After testing with Team Pro-Handicap eV and participating in his first ever 4-hour endurance race, Indian motorsport star Aditya Patel is all set to set the bar even higher by becoming the first Indian ever to participate in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring event.
Having signed a 3-year contract with Audi India, Aditya Patel has qualified for the 24 hours of Nürburgring race after his participating in the VLN endurance series in Germany last month.He will be one of three drivers racing for Team Pro-Handicap eV at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, in an Audi TTS sports car, giving him at least seven hours of racing time, unlike most other teams racing with four drivers.
Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India said, “Audi’s association with motorsport goes back a long way and our achievements on the race track reflect our passion for high quality engineering, technology and success. We believe in nurturing young talent and are confident that the capability of the Audi TTS and Aditya’s skill is a good combination to take on this challenge. The main objective for Aditya is to finish the race, which will lay a strong foundation for future success.”
Aditya Patel said, “This is a huge opportunity and I am very excited to race in one of the biggest events in international motorsport. I am thankful that Audi India and my sponsors have given me such a big chance to gain vital experience so early in my career.”
The practice and qualifying sessions for the 24 Hours of Nürburgring will be held on May 17 and 18 and the race is scheduled for May 19-20.
