The Pearl Blue paint job is available in disc as well as drum variants of the popular commuter

Earlier this month, TVS launched the disc brake-equipped Star City Plus and now, it has launched a new colour option. The popular commuter will be available in a new dual-tone option, called Pearl Blue, in addition to the existing paint job.

What's The Price? Who Are Its Rivals?

The Pearl Blue paint option doesn’t cost a dime extra. It’s available in disc and drum variants at Rs 68,465 and Rs 65,865 (ex-showroom Delhi). The TVS Star City Plus rivals the Hero Splendor iSmart and the Bajaj Platina 110 H-Gear.

What's New?

In the new livery, the Star City Plus comes draped in dark blue paint for the headlight, front fender, and grab rail. The tank, though, starts with the same blue colour and transitions into silver, extending to the side panels.

What's Unchanged?

Apart from the addition of the new paint job, nothing else has changed on the bike. The TVS Star City Plus is powered by a BS6-compliant fuel-injected 109cc single-cylinder motor developing 8.19PS and 8.7Nm. The engine is mated to a 4-speed gearbox.

TVS was a bit late to the party when it came to introducing the disc brake variant. Incidentally, the new colour option comes with the announcement of the commuter touching the 3 million sales benchmark. Though the new colour is a welcome addition, especially since customers had just one option in the disc variant, it would have been great to see TVS step up the game. Perhaps, something to take on the ABS-equipped Platina?
