TVS Teases A New Sporty E-Scooter And It’ll Be Unveiled Soon highlights

TVS has dropped a teaser about unveiling a new electric scooter on August 23, 2023. The teaser hints at a sporty e-scooter and we think it might be an electric NTorq based on the Creon e-scooter TVS showcased a few years ago. 

It might even be called the eNTorq. In fact, TVS had even filed a trademark for the “ENTORQ” name back in 2017. While that might just have been another spelling option for the Ntorq, we are optimistic that this gives TVS a ready-made name for a sporty electric scooter.

The Creon was shown by TVS way back at the Auto Expo 2018 but the manufacturer has not developed a production version of the e-scooter till date. The e-scooter had a very sporty and eccentric design language. It had a twin-spar beam frame for improved weight distribution and better riding dynamics. The e-scooter had a 16PS motor that could propel it from 0-60kmph in 5.1 seconds. Now, that’s faster than most 150cc motorcycles.

The NTorq has been the flag bearer for sporty scooters in TVS’ lineup and has made a huge impact in developing the sporty scooter segment in India ever since its launch. As such, we expect the upcoming e-scooter from TVS to be a combination of the NTorq’s sporty characteristics and the Creon’s design elements and electric tech.

The reason we also believe that this upcoming sporty e-Scooter might be based on the Creon concept is the four vertically stacked squares in the teaser, which somewhat resemble the vertical LED headlight we saw on the Creon concept.

As mentioned above, the unveiling of the new e-scooter will happen on August 23, 2023. The teaser also says that it will happen in Dubai and the exact location might be at the Burj Khalifa as the lights in the teaser resemble the famous building’s silhouette.
