[UPDATE: Royal Enfield Himlayan Mana Black Edition has debuted at EICMA 2025]

Quick News Highlights
Could feature longer travel suspension with adjustability
Might have some weight-saving measures too
Likely to get an aftermarket exhaust (but road-legal, we reckon)
Royal Enfield has just dropped a teaser for the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Rally, a more off-road capable variant of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. We wouldn’t be surprised if it’s called the ‘Himalayan 450 Raid’. It will likely be launched in Europe at EICMA 2025, on November 4.
The teaser shows the bike being ridden at Mana, the last village in India's north. From glimpses of the shots shown in the teaser, as well as the thumbnail used for the Instagram reel, it’s pretty evident that the bike has undergone several changes - both aesthetic and functional.
What’s instantly recognisable is the flared arch-like panels in the tail section. It could be a twin auxiliary tank fitment (from the rally kit) aimed to supplement the main fuel tank. While we think the main fuel tank’s 17-litre capacity remains unchanged, this extra tank at the back should not only help in better weight distribution but should also ensure better terrain-taming range. Complementing this is the flat rally-style seat, which might be a bit taller as well.

The bike also gets a lot of goodies, and they look like they’ve been borrowed straight from the accessories kit. It includes wider handlebars, full-length knuckle guards with aluminium brace, and possibly a beefy radiator guard too. To improve the off-road capabilities of the bike, Royal Enfield has used tubeless spoke wheels with off-road-oriented tyres. The bike could also get a different suspension setup. While there’s nothing inherently wrong with the current suspension setup, a longer-travel adjustable set of springs should dial up the Himalayan 450’s off-roading credentials to eleven.
Performance-wise, to eke out more power from the 452cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, Royal Enfield might use an aftermarket exhaust (hopefully road-legal). For perspective, it makes 40PS and 40Nm in the regular state of tune.

We are quite glad to see that Royal Enfield is bringing a more off-road capable Himalayan 450 to the market. This will allow the brand to target off-road ADV enthusiasts who have been looking for something that is a lot more specialized and capable for off-road riding (read regular Ladakh riders).
This variant will be a (road-legal) preview to the (most) hardcore Dakar bike that the brand has been working on for quite some time now. In fact, back in 2024, Indian Dakar rally racer CS Santosh, had been seen riding a rally-prepped Himalayan 450 at the 2024 Rallye TT Cuenca in Spain. Coming to the crux of the matter, we reckon Royal Enfield might launch the Himalayan 450 Rally at this year’s MotoVerse, possibly at around Rs 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
