KTM 1390 Super Duke RR Track Unveiled Abroad

Just when you thought KTM had hit its ceiling with the 1390 Super Duke RR, it has managed to surprise us even more and take things to a whole other level. The KTM 1390 Super Duke RR Track has been unveiled, and boy, it is absolutely bonkers! The track-only beast is limited to just 100 units globally and features components that would put the word 'insane' to shame. Here’s all you need to know about it: 

Carbon Fibre Everywhere!

One look at the Super Duke RR Track and you would immediately get to know that there is no plastic panel at all. From the alien-like ram-air intake upfront to the sleek, single-piece tail at the rear and all the aero bits in between, everything is made of carbon fibre. To further reduce the weight, all bolts are made of titanium, and the wheels are forged magnesium units. Even the unnecessary mounting points from the regular Super Duke’s frame have been removed to save as much weight as possible. This results in a kerb weight (without fuel) of just 177kg, which is 20kg lighter than the regular 1390 Super Duke.

Components From Race Machines

WP Pro fully adjustable suspension at both ends, which is derived from MotoGP bikes. Brembo P2.34, World Superbike spec brake callipers and discs. Tyres, Michelin Power Performance slicks. Every component fitted on the bike is either taken straight from racing machines or is derived from them.

The 4.2-inch instrument console, though, looks similar to the one we see on the KTM 390 Enduro R, but the features this machine gets are completely different. It gets three track ride modes, 6-level wheelie control, 5-level engine brake control, motor slip regulation, throttle control and a bidirectional quickshifter

The Heart

Although the Super Duke RR Track is powered by the same 1350cc liquid-cooled V-twin motor as the regular Super Duke, it makes more power and torque. At 202PS and 151Nm, it is 12PS and 6Nm more, all thanks to a full-system titanium Akrapovic exhaust made specially for this bike.

Closing Thoughts

Let’s be real, it is very unlikely that the 1390 Super Duke RR will ever come to India, and if by any chance a few units are allocated for our shores, they would cost an absurdly high amount. All said and done, we do get the 1390 Super Duke R here, which, although not quite out there as its track-spec sibling, does give us a taste os how bonkers the bike actually is.
