Another leaked image of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has emerged online, offering a clear view of its TFT console. This is the first time we are witnessing the console illuminated and functional.
The console itself has a charming retro-futuristic design. Although the overall shape and arrangement exude a vintage vibe with a large analog-style tachometer, it is actually a TFT display that incorporates digital elements such as a speedometer, tripmeter, odometer, and gear position indicator.
Regrettably, the image doesn't reveal the lower portion of the screen, which likely contains additional information such as the fuel gauge and engine temperature bar. The inclusion of turn-by-turn navigation remains a puzzle since the console doesn't appear to have adequate space for it.
Observing closely, one can notice that the Himalayan 450 also features the signature rotary-style switches found on other Royal Enfield motorcycles. The left switchgear incorporates a rotary switch for controlling low beam, high beam, and the pass switch. Just below that, there is a toggle for the indicators. This suggests that the menu navigation could be achieved by toggling a button located in the usual pass switch position, similar to other Royal Enfield bikes. Hence, the absence of a switch cube raises uncertainties about a feature-rich console. Nevertheless, a final judgment will be reserved until more information is available.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is now in its final stages of testing and is expected to make its debut later this year with an approximate ex-showroom price of Rs 2.80 lakh. With the presence of the KTM 390 Adventure SW, adventure motorcycle enthusiasts are in for an even more captivating choice.
