Has a claimed top speed of 110kmph

Bengaluru-based EV maker Oben Electric has launched the new Rorr Evo in India, with an introductory price of Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom, Delhi) limited to the first 10,000 buyers. Post that, the motorcycle will retail at Rs 1,24,999. Interested buyers can book the bike for just Rs 777.

Let’s get straight to the point, the Rorr Evo gets a 9kW electric motor producing a hefty 250Nm at wheels. Interestingly, it’s the first Oben bike to use a chain drive setup. The brand claims a quick 0-40kmph acceleration time of 3 seconds, while the top speed is rated at 110kmph. Riders can choose between four modes: Eco, City, Havoc and Smart IQ (a new mode which alters and enhances the range based on the rider’s riding style).

The bike is powered by a 3.4kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery pack housed in an aluminium casing with an IP67 rating. Claimed IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range stands at 180km. Fast charging from 0 to 80 percent takes about 90 minutes, and the inclusion of an onboard charger (located under the rider’s seat) adds to everyday usability.

Design-wise, the Rorr Evo takes a sharper, sportier direction compared to previous Oben offerings. It features a projector LED headlight with a sleek DRL, muscular tank extensions, and a slim tail section. The bike is offered in four shades: Neutron Blue, Pulse Red, Magnetic Black, and Photon White.

The setup includes a telescopic fork and a 7-step preload-adjustable monoshock. Braking duties are handled by discs at both ends with CBS (Combined Braking System). It rolls on 17-inch alloys and offers a low 780mm seat height, 200mm ground clearance, and 230mm water wading capability. Kerb weight is at 140kg. Practical touches include a 4-litre storage compartment located in the “Tank” and an additional 6-litre underseat space.

The Rorr Evo gets a 5-inch TFT console with Bluetooth support, offering navigation, music controls, and call/SMS alerts. It also packs in regenerative braking, reverse mode, fall detection, and dual USB charging ports. App-based features include live tracking, geo-fencing, fall alert and anti-theft alerts.
Competing against rivals like the Revolt RV400 and the Ola Roadster X, the Oben Rorr Evo is quite an attractive electric bike in its segment. With its aggressive pricing, decent claimed range, good performance figures and solid feature list, it looks like a compelling entry point into the electric motorcycle space.
