The Aprilia SR 175 hp.e and the Aprilia SR 125 hp.e have been launched in India. The Aprilia SR 175 is the most powerful air-cooled scooter from the brand in India. As per our dealer sources, the ex-showroom Pune price is between Rs 1,25,999 and Rs 1,33,000. The Aprilia SR 125 hp.e, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 1,21,480 (ex-showroom Pune), also as per our dealer sources. Here’s a brief breakdown of what’s new in both models:

Aprilia SR 175 hp.e

The Aprilia SR 175 hp.e is a performance-oriented scooter, with a new 175cc engine. It was spotted at dealerships recently. Here’s what’s new:

  • Gets a slightly sharper design, with a more aggressive-looking LED headlight setup

  • Offered in two colours: Glossy Tech White and Matt Prismatic Dark

  • Powered by a new 174.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which outputs 13.2PS and 14.14Nm. (1PS & 2Nm more than the Aprilia SR160)

  • Gets a 5-inch TFT console with smartphone connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation & call/SMS alerts.

Apart from the aforementioned aspects, the rest of the bits is the same as the one on the Aprilia SR160.

Aprilia SR 125 hp.e 

The Aprilia SR 125 hp.e is the more premium variant of the SR125, with better features but same mechanicals. Here’s what all it gets: 

  • Gets a new 5-inch TFT console with smartphone connectivity and features like turn-by-turn navigation and call/SMS alerts.

  • Offered in 3 colours: Matt Black, Glossy Mazda Grey + Matt Black, Glossy Red + Matt Black

Going by our dealer-sourced pricing, the Aprilia SR 175 hp.e seems to offer great value for money as it undercuts its primary rival, the Yamaha Aerox 155, considerably. This makes sense, as it allows Aprilia to offer a much more affordable sporty scooter alternative than the Aerox, while offering performance that’s pretty close.

The addition of the TFT console with the launch of the Aprilia SR 125 hp.e is a welcome development. One of the main areas where Aprilia was lacking was features, and with the addition of this new TFT console, the SR125 seems a bit more competent now. That said, the Aprilia SR 125 hp.e is still a lot more expensive when compared to rivals like the top-of-the-line TVS NTorq 125 which costs Rs 1,07,372 (ex-showroom Delhi), and comes with several segment-first features.
