We had recently spotted the updated Aprilia SR 125 and the Aprilia SR 160 being tested in India. The scooters were spotted alongside the upcoming Aprilia Tuono 357 naked streetfighter. The updated scooters might be launched in India soon, and here’s what we think Aprilia might be offering in this update.
The Aprilia SR 125 and the Aprilia SR 160 might feature an updated console, which should offer a lot more features. The console could likely get smartphone connectivity and related features such as turn-by-turn navigation.

Updating the console would go a long way in making the two scooters a lot more competitive in the market. Currently, one of the biggest issues people have with the scooters is the fact that the LCD consoles offered on both are quite plain, which is a bit of a letdown.
Rivals like the TVS NTorq offer a lot more features when compared to the Aprilia SR 125. The Aprilia SR 160 is also dealing with a lot of competition now, with the launch of the Hero Xoom 160. So it makes sense for Aprilia to give an update to the scooter’s features.
Another update we can expect from Aprilia is OBD-2B compliance on both the scooters’ engines.
Other than this, the engines on both bikes should remain the same. The Aprilia SR 125 will still be powered by the same 124.45cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine which outputs 10.11PS and 10.33Nm. The Aprilia SR 160 is powered by a 160.03cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine which outputs 11.27PS and 13.44Nm.

Other than these changes, we expect both the scooters to remain the same. Both will feature the same sporty and aggressive design. They’ll feature the same telescopic fork and monoshock suspension setup.
We expect Aprilia to launch both with a premium that could be around Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000. We believe the scooters will be coming to India in a few weeks. Currently, the Aprilia SR 125 comes at a price of Rs 1,21,480 (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). Whereas the Aprilia SR 160 comes at a price of Rs 1,30,378 (ex-showroom, Maharashtra).
