Aprilia will soon discontinue the SR 125 from the Indian market. Through our sources, the price difference between the SR 125 and the Storm 125 is almost negligible and it wants to focus on the latter. This decision can also be attributed to the brand’s desire to keep the ‘SR’ badge premium. Hence, it will only sell the SR 160 while the Storm will be its representation in the 125cc segment. However, we are still to receive an official statement regarding the same from the Italian brand.
When launched in 2018, the Aprilia SR 125 was the second scooter offering from the Italian brand for our market. Its objective was to make the Aprilia brand more accessible, which it kind of did. However, the 125cc motor was no match to the performance of the SR 150 and this meant consumers were willing to pay the premium for its elder sibling.

Now, with the Storm 125 coming into the picture, there was a major distinction between the SR 160 and the 125cc offering. Hence, Aprilia has decided to cut short the SR 125’s journey. Aprilia will continue to sell the SR 125 until stocks last and prospective buyers with good bargaining skills could get a good deal on the scooter.
The SR 125 is powered by a BS6-compliant, 124cc, air-cooled motor producing 10PS and 9.7Nm of torque. It has the same frame, suspension, and 14-inch wheels as seen on the SR 160. One major difference between the two scooters apart from the colours and graphics is that the SR 125 doesn’t get ABS, while its elder sibling sports a single-channel ABS. The Aprilia SR 125 retails for Rs 92,517 (ex-showroom), making it one of the most expensive 125cc scooters on sale in India.
