Quick News Highlights
An updated version of the Bajaj Chetak has been spotted testing
The electric scooter could offer a lot more storage than before
Will be launched on December 20, 2024
We recently came across an updated variant of the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter being tested. This upcoming Chetak could likely see many changes to its chassis and battery pack. Which could make it a more capable electric scooter.

Judging by the images, the scooter seems to maintain the same Chetak design language and neo-retro look. The round headlight and sculpted body panels look similar to what we have already seen on other Bajaj Chetak models.
What we believe has changed with this updated model is the chassis and battery pack. The scooter is likely going to have a redesigned chassis. It could offer a different placement for the battery pack, most probably underneath the floorboard. One issue with the Chetak is the smaller underseat storage compared to rivals. With the new chassis and repositioned battery pack, the upcoming scooter could offer a lot more storage.

Coming to the battery pack, we expect the new scooter to have more powerful ones. Recently we came across a report online which talked about the upcoming Chetak getting new battery cells, which will be more powerful and could offer better range.
So with the new cells, the battery capacity could remain the same but the range will be greater. Similar to how the 3.2kWh battery pack on the new Chetak 3201 Special Edition offered 136km range, whereas the same on the top-of-the-line Chetak Premium only offered 126km range.

The updated Chetak will be launched on December 20, 2024. It will go up against other family-oriented scooter offerings in the market such as the TVS iQube and the Ather Rizta.
