A Year Down the Road

A year into owning a TVS Apache RTR 180 has been a thrilling ride to say the least. The ABS feature is a lifesaver, providing that extra confidence during sudden stops a must in unpredictable Indian traffic. However, every rose has its thorns. The vibration levels post 7000 rpm can get uncomfortable which is noticeable on longer rides. Additionally the bike's mileage is around the 40 kmpl mark, can be a disappointing for the mileage conscious. But the Apache RTR 180 more than makes up for it with its sheer performance and the adrenaline rush it offers.

My Adventure with the TVS Apache RTR 180

Owning the TVS Apache RTR 180 for over a year now with more than 7,000 kilometers has been an adventurous journey. The bike's performance with a power of 16.79 PS at 8500 rpm and a torque of 15.5 Nm at 6500 rpm is robust for its segment offering a spirited riding experience. However the bike does show its age in terms of design and features when compared to its siblings. The vibrations at higher speeds are a bit too prominent and the braking although decent with ABS feels a bit dated.

Great bike

Great bike with a good posture and riding experience, Gives a mileage of about 38-40kmpl, Service will cost you anywhere within 2000 rupees, I love the engine performance in mid-rpm segment however it can get to vibrate a lot in lower and max rpms, The build quality is commendable for the price except for the tank cover mask the build is rugged, Soft suspension can lower your confidence a little.Overall a great budget commuter.

City riding

4.2

Apache Rtr 180 is definitely a good commuter bike. It is basicaly designed for city riding. Its engine is torqy and power starts to build up right from 3000 rpm and goes upto 7000. Its top end has very poor pull as engine only generates noise. Vibrations are very much felt at every point on bike such as footpegs , side view mirrors and visor . Nothing can be done to avoid it.Seats are comfortable but start feeling itchy after 40 - 50 kms of ride.Mileage in cities is around 40 - 42 KMPl and on highways increases upto 45-48 KMPl.stock tyres are not that good , provide less grip on wet road. Its maintenance is cheap untill you have to replace any of mechanical parts. Normal service will cost around 575₹ under free service .1025 ₹ paid service.for 2018 model.
