The Viaterra Holeshot Pro has been my go-to riding gloves for everything from daily commutes to weekend trips and trail rides. Over the past year, I’ve used them in virtually all riding scenarios, and recently, even witnessed an unexpected crash. Here’s how my experience with these gloves has been over this time period.
After extensive use, the gloves have stood the test of time. The stitching still remains tight. The mesh panels have remained in place except for a few threads here and there that got stuck in velcro, coming off.

The goat skin leather around the palm has begun creasing, but this is expected after near continuous daily use. Lastly, the velcro straps still clasp rather well. The only issues I’ve noticed are that the silicone grips on the palms have started to wear away.

Also, the colouring has begun fading. However, these are just minor issues, not deal-breakers, and the gloves have held up fantastically so far.
When we usually speak of protection, we usually talk about what the gloves offer on paper and rarely do we ever get an opportunity to test them out in the real world ourselves (not that we want to!). During a local race, I ended up getting one such opportunity due to an unexpected crash.

I participated in a local off-road rally with TeamRPM Pune. The race was divided into 2 stages, with each stage being 4km. During the first stage, almost everything went well, but at the end, I had a crash while taking a right turn.
The crash was due to a few mistakes from my end, poor throttle control and vision, along with improper usage of the front brake. The end result was the front getting locked up and me being thrown off the bike, and landing on my palms.

The Knox SPS protectors took the impact well, and my hands slid for a short distance. I was able to regain composure quickly and focus on picking up the bike. The protectors on the right-hand glove have been scratched up a bit, but the leather and everything else remain intact. Now that I think about it, if it weren’t for those gloves, this crash could have led to me fracturing my hand. After this experience, I can honestly say that these gloves offer good protection.
After such a good experience with these gloves over the past year, I can honestly recommend them without any second thoughts. At Rs 4,199, the gloves prove to be a great bang for buck. These look like they will last for a few more years of regular riding. Hence, you will not be forced to constantly seek new pairs, which you might if you get some budget or cheap gloves.
