Hero’s electric (not Hero Electric) ambitions will soon go beyond scooters. A camouflaged electric bike, likely the upcoming Vida VXZ – was spotted testing somewhere in Rajasthan.
This Hero bike has a proper streetfighter-esque stance, like a muscular ‘fuel tank’ with extensions, but a traditional commuter like single-seat setup. Although, the recently filed design patent had a split-seat, rear tyre hugger with the number plate and indicators mounted on it. While the images aren't that clear; we could spot a tail light similar to the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V, an upside-down fork, monoshock, disc brakes and alloy wheels at both ends on this Vida bike.

It’s expected to offer performance comparable to 250cc street nakeds like the KTM 250 Duke, Suzuki Gixxer 250, and even their own Hero Xtreme 250R. Features will likely include a TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, ride modes, regenerative braking, all LED lights, and fast-charging capability. Whether it gets removable/swappable batteries like the Vida VX2 or Vida Dirt.E K3 remains to be seen.
The VXZ might directly compete with the Ultraviolette F77 SuperStreet performance-wise, but could be cheaper. With test bikes already out on public roads, development seems to be progressing quickly; and the launch could happen sometime this year itself.
