Harley-Davidson X440 Base Variant: Alternatives For The Same Price

Harley-Davidson recently launched the X440T in India, but along with it, the brand reduced the prices of the Vivid variant of the regular X440 while discontinuing the Denim variant. Now priced at Rs 2,34,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi), here are 5 other options which you can consider in the same price range as the base Harley-Davidson X440 in India: 

1. KTM Duke 250

Price: Rs 2,12,196 (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The KTM 250 Duke is the sharpest and most performance-oriented motorcycle in this group. It uses a 248.7cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that delivers strong top-end performance and has a quick throttle response. The bike is built around a lightweight trellis frame, which it shares with its elder sibling, the 390 Duke, giving it a very sporty and agile character.

With loads of features and a sharp design, the Duke 250 is clearly aimed at riders who prioritise speed, cornering ability and sporty riding dynamics over relaxed cruising.

2. TVS Apache RTX 300

Price: From Rs 1,99,999 to Rs 2,34,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The TVS Apache RTX 300 is the newest and most affordable entrant in this list. The ADV gets a 299cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, paired with a 6-speed gearbox, focusing on usable mid-range performance rather than outright top speed.

The bike gets a muscular design, upright riding posture, all-LED lighting and a TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity. TVS has also equipped it with multiple riding modes, traction control and dual-channel ABS. The top-end BTO variant also gets fully adjustable suspension, which further increases its appeal if you want a motorcycle which will go the distance. 

3. Triumph Speed 400 

Price: Rs 2,33,754 (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The Triumph Speed 400 is the closest rival to the X440 Vivid not just in price, but also in positioning. It uses a 398cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that offers a strong and refined mid-range, making it suitable for both city riding and highway touring.

In terms of design, the Speed 400 follows a neo-retro roadster look with a round LED headlamp, sculpted fuel tank and minimal bodywork. It also offers a USD fork, ride-by-wire, traction control and dual-channel ABS as standard. While the X440 leans more towards a cruiser-style layout, the Speed 400 feels more like a compact, premium roadster with sporty undertones.

4. Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 

Price: From Rs 2,56,387 to Rs 2,72,479 (ex-showroom, Chennai)

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 

The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is powered by a liquid-cooled 452cc single-cylinder engine, the same base that underpins the Himalayan 450. It focuses on strong low and mid-range torque rather than top-end performance.

The Guerrilla 450 is positioned as a road-focused streetfighter, with a muscular tank, minimal side panels and a more aggressive stance than traditional Royal Enfields. It comes with ride-by-wire, and a TFT display with navigation. Compared to the X440, the Guerrilla 450 offers stronger performance and newer tech, but also sits at a slightly higher price point.

5. Ultraviolette X47 Crossover

Price: From Rs 2,49,000 to Rs 3,49,000 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru)

Ultraviolette X47 Crossover

The Ultraviolette X47 Crossover is the only electric motorcycle in this list and is targeted at riders who want strong performance with zero tailpipe emissions. The base variant makes 27kW and has a claimed range of 211km. 

The design is quite futuristic and sharp, with full-LED lighting, a fairly comfortable riding position and a large TFT console with connected features. It also comes with multiple riding modes, regenerative braking, traction control and advanced safety features such as a radar and cameras at both ends.
