Volkswagen Group Sales India Academy, the automotive training arm of the Volkswagen Group, has announced the launch of ‘Autotronics’, a new programme dedicated to nurturing technical knowledge and skills in automotive technical training. VW has tied up with Hindustan University for certification of its programme, and is also looking at tying up with other reputed institutes in the future.
The 1 year course, consisting of three modules viz. Mechanical, Electrical and Vehicle Systems, also cover advanced technology in Safety Systems, Infotainment Systems, Body Repair and Diagnosis. Taken as a whole, Autotronics is designed to enhance employability of the students aspiring to join the automobile sector bridging the gap between course curriculum offered by the institutes and special requirement from the automotive industry.
With the Autotronics, program VW will provide support to selected institutes in terms of technical support, imparting training to faculties, providing aggregates, sub-assemblies and components of the latest automotive technologies employed in vehicles. The Institutes are equipped to provide state of the art infrastructure including well-appointed classrooms and a workshop facility with all the required tools and equipment as per Volkswagen standards. After successfully clearing the final exam, these students will then be declared as ‘Certified by Volkswagen Group Sales India Academy’, and will have enhanced employment opportunities at various Volkswagen Group dealerships across the country.
Speaking at the launch, Berndt A. Buchmann, Director, Volkswagen Group, After Sales & Vehicle Logistics said, “We are proud to announce our association with Hindustan University, through the introduction of ‘Autotronics’, a special course designed by the Volkswagen Group Sales India Academy. The program aims at assisting the youth with accurate knowledge about modern automobile technologies through a certificate course. The Autotronics program will generate substantial manpower trained in a structured manner available as employable talent for the Volkswagen Group and their respective dealer networks of Audi, Lamborghini, Porsche, Skoda and Volkswagen brands.”
