Tata Motors today launched the Tata Aria, India’s first four-wheel drive crossover, with the interior styling of a premium sedan and a robust outer shell like that of an SUV. The all new MPV offering from Tata Motors has been built for multiple terrains and comes with a host of safety features, which include 4x4 Adapterra Torque-on-Demand System, Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), Traction Control System (TCS), Antilock Braking System (ABS) and much much more.
On the technology front, the new Aria is powered by a 2.2 litre Direct Injection Common Rail (DICOR) engine, with variable turbine technology for optimum performance both on and off the road.
Aria Appeal
The Aria’s styling has a blend of bold proportions with both the interiors and exteriors exuding class and luxury. The interiors will incorporate premium leather upholstery in single or dual tone themes. Air-conditioning louvers on pillars and a sweeping row of roof utility spaces add to the distinctive appeal.
The three-row theatre style flexible seating ensures ample space for passengers. Both the second row and third row seats can be fully collapsed to make the car even roomier for accessories and luggage for that weekend sojourn. The height-adjustable driver’s seat and the tilt adjustable steering help configure the most comfortable driving position.
Aria Technology
The Tata Aria is fitted with a solid 2.2 litre Direct Injection Common Rail (DICOR) engine, with variable turbine technology and 32-bit ECU delivers 140 PS power and 320 Nm torque. A new Mark II gearbox has been fitted into the Aria for ensuring smooth power delivery and precise gear shifting.
Safer than ever
The new Tata Aria comes with top of the line safety features, making it one of the safest cars on Indian roads. Some of these frontline safety measures include:
4x4 Adapterra Torque-on-Demand System, which senses terrain conditions and automatically supplies torque in varying proportions to assist off-road driving as well as stability on normal roads.
The Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) senses any mismatch between the driver’s intended direction and the actual direction of the car, and automatically intervenes to apply braking force to the appropriate wheel and stabilizes the car.
Traction Control System (TCS) maintains stability under situations of sudden acceleration.
Antilock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Breakforce Distribution (EBD) aids the steering ability and control in emergency braking situations and on slippery surfaces.
