Maruti Suzuki Rock N Road: Redefining the SUV Experience

SsangYong, a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra, has launched its much anticipated compact SUV- the SsangYong Tivoli in Seol, South Korea. This newly launched SUV was developed over a period of four years and draws its name from the city of Tivoli situated near Rome in Italy.
Commenting on this new model, Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group, said, “The Tivoli marks a significant new milestone in the growing partnership between Mahindra and SsangYong. This new SUV epitomizes the spirit of ‘Korea Can Do’ and reflects Ssangyong’s rich legacy of innovation in product development. We are confident that the Tivoli is poised to drive SsangYong’s growth in the future”.
This SUV takes its design cues from the SsangYong XIV-Air and XIV-Adventure concepts. The new SsangYong Tivoli sports a muscular appearance. The Tivoli gets sleek headlamps, creases that run across the side profile and fog lamps which are well integrated into the lower half of the front bumper. The rear end is simple and receives wrap-around taillamps.
The interior looks spacious and exudes a premium feel. The new compact SUV features a touchscreen display which is part of the infotainment system, a dual-zone climate control system, rearview camera and Bluetooth connectivity. It also packs a good seven air bags that take care of the safety part.
The Tivoli which is SsangYong’s first compact SUV model is powered by a 1.6-litre engine ,which according to the South Korean carmaker, will give seamless driving experience to its customers in cities and outside the city limits. The company plans to sell up to 1,00,000 units of the new model annually of which 40,000 units are planned for the domestic market while the rest would be exported.
The new SsangYong Tivoli is priced at Rs 9.31 lakh for the TX (M/T) version; Rs 10.22 lakh for the TX (A/T) version; Rs 11.36 lakh for the VX version and approximately between Rs 12.68 lakh and Rs 13.53 lakh for the LX version.
