Peugeot's revolutionary concept the 308 RCZ will be seen for the first time in production guise at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September!

Remember the Peugot 308 RCZ concept from the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show? Yes, the same one that we all drooled over and wished that the French manufacturer would finally put into production for general automotive excitement's sake. Well, dreams have been fulfilled and prayers have been answered - the concept is making its way to reality, soon.

Judging by initial images it seems the engineers at Peugeot have done a great job at making the designers' lives easy by sticking as close to the original concept as possible. The RCZ may have shed the 308 prefix but it looks pretty much the same as what was showcased in the 2007 show. They are touting it as an exclusive vehicle, full of emotion, targeted at enthusiasts. If some of the iconic vehicles from Peugeot's past are anything to go by, we have no reason to doubt their tag line either.

The brief was simple - to keep the purity of the original concept's styling and also to ensure that the car drives as well as it looks. In fact, some very ambitious targets were set in terms of driving dynamics and build quality, in order to give the car its own extremely strong identity. The name of the new model itself symbolises change - for the first time in the French manufacturer's history, a car will be seen without the zero or double zero naming system that has always been a Peugeot trait. The RCZ will thus symbolise all of Peugeot's core values but showcases a movement into modern times as well. We can't wait till September - the RCZ is bound to be a major attraction at Frankfurt this year!
