The moped will compete in the Dust’n Sardinia off-road event from September 17-19, 2021, to test its mettle

  • It’s designed by Italian outfit Motocicli Audaci.
  • Features knobby tyres, Ohlins piggyback shocks, and a revised front end.
  • Cosmetic changes help improve the model's overall function and appeal.
  • It’s a known fact that the Honda CT125 Hunter, derived from the standard Super Cub, can take on some light trails. But what if it could be pushed beyond its limits for some serious off-road business. That’s the thought behind the Super Cub 125X -- a moped that’s been thoroughly overhauled to compete in the Dust’n Sardinia off-road event from September 17-19, 2021.

It’ll be put through 450 kilometres of gruelling trails to test its mettle and then be showcased just in time for EICMA 2021 in November.

There’s a ton of work that’s gone into making this petite moped off-road ready. In typical scrambler fashion, the stock tyres have been swapped out for some proper knobbies. The suspension has been updated with premium dual Ohlins piggyback shocks at the rear and a revised front end lifting the Cub by 1.5 inches. Both the front and rear mudguard have been redesigned for better clearance.

Other cosmetic revisions include a CAD-designed brake guard and carbon fibre side panels/exhaust heat shields that shroud the chopped exhaust. The handlebar-mounted headlight has been moved to the front apron which gives it a rugged look.

Surprisingly, the Alcantara leather bench seat is long enough to accommodate two riders, however, it isn’t advisable to do so while going off-road. Finally, you have a retro desert sand paint scheme with black pinstripes and mechanicals, which elevates the moped’s overall appeal.

One wouldn’t imagine taking the standard Super Cub off-road, but the folks at Motocicli Audaci have proved that it's possible, with some heavy modifications of course.
