The sheer amount of frenzy that the first Indian GP is creating is nothing short of hysteria, especially since the announcement has been made officially that the GP will indeed be taking place. Gone are the rumours of delays and the only fact that stands tall is the fact that the Indian GP is a reality that will take place in October this year.
Bharti Airtel has also joined the Formula One bandwagon when they announced that they will be the Title Sponsor of the Indian Grand Prix. The leading telecommunications company has joined hands with Formula One Group of Companies and together the announcement has been made that the race in India will officially be known as the Airtel Indian Grand Prix.
Bernie Ecclestone, who attended the event, shared that he is very happy to have an Indian GP as India is one of the most popular countries today and the world has its eyes on the Indian market so it is also a matter of pride to be here. He also mentioned that the development of the track has been great and there are no setbacks whatsoever. With everything moving in the direction of finalization, Bernie did say that by September the final go ahead should and in all probability will be given to the Indian circuit. He hopes to extend this relationship with India for as long as he can.
The Airtel Indian Grand Prix is set to take place on the last weekend in October at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida. This event has been surrounded by a lot of hype and as expectations grow higher, all we can say is that the day isn’t too far away when those precision engines will roar to life and make Indian history.
