Ferrari’s successor to the FF is on its way to India. The GTC4Lusso was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show this year and it’s just been learnt that the grand tourer will make its Indian debut in 2017. The supercar builds up on the FF and combines it with elements from other models in the Italian motor magnate’s range. While the name gets rather wordy, it’s a throwback to Ferraris of the past.
The GTC4Lusso isn’t a radical breakaway from its predecessor and Ferrari has taken an “if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it” approach. It’s still powered by a 6,262cc, naturally-aspirated V12, but the output figures have been uprated to 690PS of power at 8,000rpm (up from the FF’s 660PS) and 697Nm of torque at 5,750rpm (up from the FF’s 683Nm). What’s more is that 80 per cent of the torque is available from as low as 1,750rpm!
The 4-seater does the 0-100kmph run in a claimed 3.4 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 335kmph. The grunt is channeled to all four wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, with the F12tdf’S rear-wheel steering system thrown into the kitty as well.
The ‘more practical’ Ferrari also gets a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and the noise insulation has been improved too. On the outside, the GTC4Lusso is an evolution of the FF, but gets a new set of headlights, quad rear lights, a different grille and a roof spoiler, all of which work together to sharpen the GT car’s aesthetics.
The price? Expect it to hover around the Rs 5 crore mark.
