We’ve seen the BS6 Classic 350 begin to arrive at dealerships across the country, and now details about the bike’s official launch are also becoming clearer. Dealers are already accepting bookings for a fully refundable amount of Rs 10,000, and we believe Royal Enfield will launch the updated Classic on January 7. Considering that units have already begun arriving at dealerships, deliveries should begin soon after.
The updates on the BS6 iteration mostly concern the powertrain, which is now fuel-injected rather than carburetted and features an additional catalytic converter as well. The wire-spoke wheels have also been ditched in favour of alloy units, though the Signals edition bikes appear to continue with the former.
We have, on multiple occasions in the past, spotted Royal Enfield testing what we thought was the 2020 Classic 350 with LED DRLs and semi-digital instrumentation. But we now believe that this bike will be launched as an entirely new model under one of the names the company has recently trademarked. Meanwhile, this fuel-injected version of the 346cc UCE motor should make its way into an updated Thunderbird 350 and Bullet 350 in the coming months.
