2025 Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid: Features Explained

Yamaha recently launched India’s first 150cc hybrid motorcycle called the FZ-S Fi Hybrid. Launched at a price of Rs 1,44,800 (ex-showroom Delhi). It gets various features which make it a motorcycle worth considering within its segment. Lets have a closer look at what features this hybrid gets.

Mild-Hybrid Tech

The 2025 Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid uses a battery-assisted mild-hybrid tech. It gets a battery-powered starter motor generator (SMG) which works alongside the 150cc petrol powered motor. This makes the motorcycle feel more energetic and it reduces the load on the engine improving the overall fuel efficiency. One of the main advantages of the smart motor generator will be seen while trying those difficult overtakes. The extra boost in acceleration will improve the overall riding experience.

The motorcycle also features a Start and Stop System (SSS), which is basically an engine stop-start feature. This system automatically shuts off the engine when idling and seamlessly restarts it when the clutch lever is pulled in, all without making a sound. By reducing unnecessary engine idling, the system helps conserve fuel and significantly enhances the motorcycle's overall fuel efficiency.

4.2-Inch TFT Display

The new Yamaha hybrid bike also gets an updated 4.2-inch coloured TFT display. It shows all the crucial information like speed, rpm, fuel capacity, trip information and more. This display supports smartphone connectivity via Yamaha Y-connect application. It allows for convenient features like turn-by-turn navigation, SMS & call alerts, and music control. This app also shows ride telemetry figures like fuel consumption, maintenance tracker, rev dashboard, and more.

Rider Aids 

In terms of rider aids, the Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid has  single-channel ABS. Though we would have preferred dual-channel ABS for even better safety. There’s  a switchable traction control system as well. .

Other Features 

The Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid gets an all LED headlight along with LED tail lamp and indicators. The  side stand engine cut-off feature turns off the engine when the side stand is lowered, or prevents ignition while it is lowered..

For the price, the Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid offers a decent suite of features. . Being a hybrid, it offers slightly better performance and mileage than the standard FZ-S. Features like the coloured TFT display and Y-connect app helps in increasing this motorcycle's overall appeal.
