Ducati expanded the Scrambler family by unveiling the new Scrambler Desert Sled. The new motorcycle is a dual-purpose machine from the Italian bikemaker. Now, one might argue that Ducati already has a dual purpose Scrambler in the form of the Urban Enduro. But the latter failed to strike a chord with bikers and Ducati expects that the new Scrambler Desert Sled with its mix of old-school charm and modernity will change the equation. The raised mudguard, knobby tyres, spoke wheels and the golden finish on rims does make the new motorcycle stand apart from its peers. 

Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled

Underneath the endure body style sits the same underpinnings as seen on the standard Scrambler. The frame is same and the new motorcycle gets powered by an 803cc air-cooled, L-Twin motor pushing out 76PS of power and 68Nm of torque. The Scrambler Desert Sled rides on 19-inch front wheels and a 17-inch unit does duty at the back and both the tyres sport Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR rubber. Given its off-road focus, the new motorcycle gets equipped with bear-claw footpegs with removable rubber inserts, saddle height has been raised to 860mm, reinforced frame to take beating and wide bars get a motocross style brace. The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled sports adjustable 46mm dia KYB USD forks and fully-adjustable KYB monoshock unit in rear. The bike is devoid of any electronic aids and it tips the scale at 191kg. ABS though is a standard fitment on the motorcycle.
