Hero MotoCorp has launched the Xtreme 125R, its premium, sporty 125cc bike, at the starting price of Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). The motorcycle represents Hero's entry into the 125cc sporty segment, and is positioned above the Hero Glamour Xtec.
The Hero Xtreme looks sporty and muscular. It has a sculpted fuel tank with sharp tank extensions. The sharp projector headlight with an all-LED taillight and indicators add to the sporty appeal of the bike, although it looks a little too boxy in our opinion. It also gets a hazard light function as standard. The 125cc bike gets a split seat setup with split grabrails. It has a stubby exhaust and a tyre hugger, giving the rear a neat and sporty look.
The Xtreme features a negative LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity, providing call and SMS alerts. It also gets a gear position indicator with the basic information and tell-tale lights.
The Hero Xtreme 125R is powered by a new 125cc single-cylinder counterbalanced engine that produces a peak output of 11.5PS at 8250rpm. Hero promises the bike can accelerate from 0 to 60kmph in 5.9 seconds. The Xtreme 125R comes with a claimed mileage of 66kmpl. For reference, the TVS Raider 125 makes 11.38PS at 7500rpm and 11.2Nm at 6000rpm.
Built on a lightweight diamond frame, the Xtreme 125R is equipped with the largest-in-class 37mm telescopic fork and a 7-step preload-adjustable monoshock, developed in collaboration with Showa. The Xtreme 125R features a 276mm front disc brake (largest in the air-cooled 125cc bike segment). Depending on the variant, it gets either single-channel ABS (first among the 125cc air-cooled bikes) or CBS. The bike rolls on a 120-section rear tyre, another first for a 125cc air-cooled bike.
The Hero Xtreme 125R is available in three colours: Cobalt Blue, Firestorm Red, and Stallion Black. The 125cc Hero has a starting price of Rs 95,000 for the base variant and Rs 99,500 for the ABS variant. The Xtreme 125R will be available in Hero showrooms from February 20, 2024. For reference, the TVS Raider 125 costs Rs 95,219 for the base single-piece seat variant and goes up to Rs 1,02,770 for the top-end SX variant (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
Apart from the Raider, the Xtreme 125R competes against the Bajaj Pulsar NS125 and Honda SP125.
Hero has also revealed the Mavrick 440 at the Hero World 2024, which you can check out here.
