Hero is prepping to take on the TVS Raider and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V with these bikes

While Hero MotoCorp is working on big and more premium bikes, the attention to the small capacity bikes haven’t diminished. The Hero Xtreme 125R and Xtreme 200R were spotted testing together, and here’s all you need to know about the upcoming Hero bikes.

Hero Xtreme 125

Just recently, Hero had announced that it will be launching a premium and sporty 125cc bike, and a few days later, the first sighting of the Xtreme 125R occurred. Now, a couple of weeks later, the 125cc streetfighter has been spied testing again.

It gets a beefy and aggressive design language with muscular fuel tank extensions. The front is quite sporty too, almost giving off sasta Ducati Streetfighter vibes. The split seat setup and split grab rails also go well with the sporty appeal to the bike.

In terms of powertrain, it is highly likely that the Xtreme 125R will come powered by the same 125cc fuel-injected motor as the Glamour 125. This motor makes 11PS and 10.6Nm on the Glamour. For more details on the hardware of the Xtreme 125R, head here.

The Xtreme 160R will make for the perfect rival to the TVS Raider 125, which is priced at Rs 93,719 (ex-showroom Delhi). Considering that Hero will likely try to undercut the Raider, and launch the Xtreme 125 R by end of 2023, likely at around Rs 95,000.

Hero Xtreme 200R

Behold, Hero is set to launch yet another motorcycle on its 200cc 4V platform – possibly called the Hero Xtreme 200R 4V. Based on the same platform as the Hero Xpulse twins, the Xtreme 200R 4V will use the same 200cc, air-oil-cooled engine, which churns out 19.1PS and 17.35Nm.

While the XPusle 200T offers a more commuter-oriented bike on this platform, the Xtreme 200R will make for a sportier and more exciting offering, catering to the streetfighter segment. It also gets a pretty sporty design language with a split vertically stacked headlight, muscular fuel tank along with sharp side panels and grab rail. The design for the bike looks quite similar to the one that was patented a while back.

Interestingly, the headlight housing gets red panels, accentuating the sportiness. And oh, the H-shaped headlight design is something we have already seen on the Xtec products of Hero like the Glamour, Passion and even the Xoom 110.

Expect Hero to launch the Xtreme 200R by the end of 2023 with an expected price of Rs 1.35 lakh ex-showroom. It will go up against the likes of the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, Honda Hornet 2.0, Yamaha FZ 25 and Bajaj Pulsar N250.
