The Yezdi Roadking Scrambler and Adventure are all set for a January 13 launch

(UPDATE: Yezdi has launched all three bikes in India, head here to read the launch story.)

Classic Legends is set to resurrect the iconic Yezdi brand with two new motorcycles: Roadking Scrambler and Adventure, on January 13. Though the company hasn’t officially revealed any details yet, the numerous spy shots have divulged quite a lot. Here’s a low-down on everything we know so far:

Jawa-derived Engines
The Roadking Scrambler and Adventure will borrow their engines from Yezdi’s sister company, Jawa. While the Scrambler is expected to use the 293cc liquid-cooled engine from the Forty-Two (the Jawa makes 27.33PS and 27.02Nm), the Adventure will use the Perak’s 334cc mill that churns 30Ps and 32Nm. However, these bikes will likely be tuned differently to suit their intended purpose.

Distinctive Styling
Okay, that may not be entirely true for the Yezdi Adventure, given its resemblance to the Royal Enfield Himalayan, but the Scrambler is a unique approach. The raised front fender, upswept exhausts, tuck-and-roll seat, and the minimalistic body panels -- everything screams Scrambler.

And while the Adventure may seem like a Himalayan ripoff, the test mules spotted packed modern-day elements like LED illumination, a digital instrument console (likely to be TFT), and decent crash protection.

Purpose-built Underpinnings
The numerous spy shots and the latest teaser reveal that the bikes have the underpinnings required for their purpose. So, as one would expect from a Scrambler, the Yezdi bike gets wire-spoke rims, long-travel suspension, and decent ground clearance.

The Adventure is no different. Yezdi has equipped the ADV with a 19/17-inch wire-spoke rim setup, long-travel suspension, and disc brakes at both ends. While both bikes seem to be equipped with dual-channel ABS, it would be interesting to see if they get switchable units.

More Affordable Than Their Rivals?
The Yezdi Roadking Scrambler rivals the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Honda CB350RS, which are priced at Rs 2.10 lakh and Rs 2 lakh, respectively. We expect Yezdi to undercut its rivals by Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000.

Meanwhile, the Yezdi Adventure will lock horns with the Himalayan, which now comes at Rs 2.10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) onwards. Yezdi may choose to price its ADV at Rs 2 lakh, making it a more affordable alternative to the Himalayan.
