Chinese conglomerate Loncin Group, which sells 300cc to 500cc motorcycles overseas under the brand name Voge, has launched the Voge Brivido 500R, a 500cc naked motorcycle, in Italy. The motorcycle will directly compete with the Honda CB500F.

The Voge Brivido 500R is a lot larger than other 500cc naked motorcycles. In fact, it looks more like a 650cc motorcycle. It gets a sharp design and looks similar to the CFMoto 650NK sold in India. Features include an LED headlamp, tail lamp and turn indicators. The Voge Brivido 500R gets digital instrument console that somehow looks dated in what otherwise is a modern and premium design.

Power comes from a 471cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin motor which delivers 43.5PS at 8500rpm. While that’s on par with other 500cc parallel-twin motorcycles, the Brivido 500R weighs a hefty 198kg, which could dampen its performance. Voge claims a top speed of 160kmph and a fuel efficiency of 27kmpl. With a 16.5-litre fuel tank, the Brivido 500R should offer a range of around 445km.

The Voge Brivido 500R impresses the most in the underpinnings department. It gets a tubular frame and Kayaba suspension components in the form of 41mm upside-down forks and monoshock. It gets Pirelli Angel GT 120/70 ZR17 front and 160/60 ZR17 rear radial tyres. Braking is via dual Nissin 298mm discs and a single 240mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS.

In Italy, the Voge Brivido 500R costs 5,690 euros (approx Rs 4.67 lakh). That’s around 600 euros (Rs 49,000) less than the Honda CB500F. The chances of Loncin launching the Voge Brivido 500R in India are quite slim as the bikemaker does not have a presence here. Honda is expected to launch the CB500F in India though. The 500cc naked is expected to launch here by the end of this year along with Honda’s other 500cc motorcycles. Know more details here.
